THE CHARACTER

Character Name: Robb Stark
Series: Game of Thrones (tv show)
Canon Point: Post death
Character Age: 19
Background: link

Personality:
Looking at Robb, it might seem like he's driven by a desire to be fair and just. In all he does he tries to be honest, fair, and just. As he takes on the mantle of Lord of Winterfell and then King in the North he holds on to these principles, despite the evidence that things would be easier for him if he did not. Robb does not want to see the innocent injured, even if their families are his enemies. He actually has his own soldiers and bannermen killed because they murdered two Lannister boys. Even with his followers threatening to turn against him, he does not back down. He states clearly to his cousins that he's in the war for his family, not to win renown or glory or fame.
Despite this consistency of character, the truth is that it's Robb's family who are his primary motivation. He wants to be honourable because his father is honourable and just. He encourages his brothers and sister in what they do, and he knows their strengths. When he goes to war it's for his father and sisters, and once Ned is killed it cements in Robb the conviction that he can't stop what he's started. There's nothing Robb won't do for his family.
To achieve whatever he sets his mind to Robb will do what has to be done. Whether this is sacrificing his future freedom by agreeing to a political marriage, or making the hard choice to send part of his army to be slaughtered so he can win an more important tactical victory, Robb does not shy away from taking the hard steps necessary to achieving the goals set before him. This isn't always a good thing. Robb's views can be slow to change once set. He's not a philosophical thinker, and while he wishes for the fighting to end so he and his men can have peace, he doesn't question the way he has to avenge his father by raising an army or how things are done. He's openly hostile to a Lannister visiting his home (because Lannisters are The Enemy) and even when it's shown that the man is here to help, Robb only grudgingly offers welcome.
Even more so, this determination to get things done in an honourable way is what ultimately gets him killed, as it did his father. Robb cannot and will not overlook what is "the right thing to do". When his bannermen go against his orders to kill two captives, Robb has them all killed in response, because in his mind it's what has to be done. In reality it sets that house against him. He acts honourably and expects that his allies will do the same- but it is two of them who betray and kill him. Robb does not expect that, because it's not what he would do. Flexibility in these circumstances would have served him better, they would have kept him more alive, but they would have betrayed who he see himself to be.
Perhaps unlike many of his Northern counterparts, Robb sees no value in unnecessary violence or pain. He is very caring to all his siblings, even to the ward/political prisoner living with his family, Theon Greyjoy- whom he treats like a brother. Robb values happiness and peace, and throughout his time at war stresses that he just wants his goal (freeing his father, sisters, achieving independence for the North) so that he can return home.
Despite his skills Robb is aware of his flaws, and especially his fear. He doesn't hide this from his closest friends- usually his mother or Theon. When he meets Talisa he's very open with her about what he thinks, and doesn't hide when he disagrees with her or doesn't understand her point of view. Likewise: Robb is not prone to hiding his distaste or hostilities towards his enemies.
While he's able to control it when he neesd to, Robb feels things deeply. This leads him to make rash or impulsive desicions. A good example is marrying Talia, a woman he met caring for wounded soldiers after a battle. Robb had given his word he would marry another, but after falling in love with her he could see no path forward other than marry her instead. At his death- he sees his wife murdered and cannot bring himself to fight or escape; he's too overcome with despair.
A byproduct of the importance of honour in his life, Robb is very sensitive to slights against his family name or those associated with him, and to a lesser extent himself. He is wary of the help offered to his younger brother by Tyrion Lannister, a man Robb does not consider a friend, especially since he cannot see the reason for it.
Stubborn, set in his ways.

Powers/Abilities: Fighting: trained with bows, swords, and arrows, Robb is a decent fighter.
Tactics: Robb is a good tactician, capable of making choices that win him battles that others believe him to be incapable of winning.

I'd like to request his sword (a regular unmagical longsword) which he didn't have on him when he died.

Incentives: 1. Safety of his siblings, 2. Healing his wife, 3. Freedom for his people (Northerners)
